The Compassionate Use Act of 1996 - HSC 11362.5 (Proposition 215) The Compassionate Use Act, formerly known as "Proposition 215", was passed by a majority of California voters in 1996. The Act grants California citizens the right to obtain, possess and use medical marijuana with the recommendation of a physician.
California's SB 420 - HSC 11362.7 Senate Bill 420, passed in 2003 by the California State Senate, provides guidelines for the enforcement of the Compassionate Use Act.
